package contains the MeteoCom 6 Marine Edition software, the ICOM PCR-1500
and all necessary connecting cables.
This software/hardware combination is characterized by smooth start-up and
good results as well as an outstanding cost/performance-ratio.
The IC-PCR1500 is a black box-receiver which is intended to operate in
conjunction with a computer. In connection with MeteoCom 6 this package
represents the value of an extremely expensive DSP-receiver. Expensive
filters, displays and switches are not even factors when considering
on-board use. A much higher premium is placed on small size, freedom of
installation and low power consumption. Deciding factors for on-board use
are functionality and cost.
Bonito is one of few companies worldwide which has officially received the
protocol from ICOM Japan. We were able to use the potential of this receiver
to the fullest and integrate the software development. The control, for
example, was completely integrated into MeteoCom 6 and is done via a
USB-interface. Also integrated is the time management which allows for fully
automatic operation. This also makes it possible to have your computer
switched off automatically.
You can install the unit at a concealed location on board. There is only a
2-meter cable that connects the receiver to the computer. The unit is
powered by the typical 12 Volt board supply. Betweeen 10 kHz and 3.2 GHz
tuning step accuracy is 1 Hz. This also enables VHF and satellite
communications, which makes it possible to use special information services
that may be avail-able through future Bonito updates.
With this package
you are receiving a unit which is able to receive
weather information's in the background, fully automatically.
IC-R1500
The unit is also available as IC-R1500 with an external display (see image).
With the IC-R1500 operation is also possible without a computer, which makes
the unit even more flexible. The length of the cable connecting receiver and
display is 3 meters.
